When you create a new FlexChat Conversation, your Chat Defaults settings will appear in the conversation table. If you find yourself using the Advanced model more often then the Standard model, for example, change the setting here and stop changing it each time you have a new conversation.
Also, the Model setting here is the model used for the Other Chats (Simple Chat, Expand Text, and Summarize Text tools). If you want to use your Advanced Model for those chats, set the Chat Default Model to Advanced, or set Chat Default: Model to Standard to use the Standard model.

The OpenAI Models page provides a lot of details about what models are available (different models have different capabilities and costs), and your OpenAI dashboard will show you what models you have access to, and if there are any restrictions on your usage level. FlexChat.ai is compatible with gpt-3.5-turbo and later models.
If have a strong technical background you may want to change some of the other settings you can find more information about these options and what they do by looking at the OpenAI API Specifications. If this is like a foreign language to you, rest assured that you can leave these settings as-is.
OpenAI even updates Models for you – even though the model name stays the same, OpenAI continuously evolves the gpt-3.5-turbo (Standard) and gpt-4-turbo-preview (Advanced) models and they become more capable, cheaper, and faster.
